The Current Cinema - A quick word from Barrie Pattison on a new Chinese movie Mr Six.

Lao pao er /Mr. Six Directed by Hu Guan & Runnian Dong  and starring Feng Xiaogang, the leading figure of the current Chinese cinema, is in its last days at the George St Event Cinema - probably. Most interesting Asian film I've seen since Black Coal Thin Ice (Diao Yinan, China, 2014), not without flaws but the way they keep on shifting audience sympathy is impressive. So so 'scope copy - probably digital. Philipa Hawker online in The Age   picked up on this one to my surprise.
